Cardiac Clinical Data Management

Cardiac Clinical Data Management provides a data resource, technical knowledge and information management, within the Institute of Cardiac Services.

Functions Performed:

  • Data collection and auditing for Cardiac Catheter Lab, Cardiac Investigations, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiac Medical Ward;
  • Collect and record data for both Cardiology and Cardiothoracic surgery;

Clinical Research

Clinical Research provides clinical research and education, ensuring best practice and quality patient care.

Functions Performed:

  • Conduct all cardiac clinical drug trails and audits locally and internationally;
  • Ensure quality patient care through the development and maintenance of patient care standards;
  • Ensure accurate collection, management and integrity of clinical trial data within the Cardiac Services in relation to clinical drug trials and prospective research projects;
  • Provide co-ordinated and confidential communication between external study coordinators, cardiac clinical trial patients and the various hospital departments involved with the respective studies;
  • Provide support, direction and education to clients/patients and registered nurses in relation to clinical studies;
  • Identify and recruit patients into current clinical studies being conducted by the Institute;
