Child Development Service (CDS)
Child Development Service (CDS) (previously known as Children's Community Therapy Service) provides interdisciplinary allied health services (occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech pathology and social work) to children 0-eight years presenting with co-morbid developmental delays or 0-18 years with a physical impairment who are not eligible for support from other service providers.
CDS consists of:
- 3.4 Physiotherapists
- 3.1 Occupational Therapists
- 2.5 Speech Pathologists
- One Social Worker
- One Therapy Assistant
- 0.6 team Leader
CDS provides assessment and intervention services to children and their families. Intervention may involve individual or group treatment programs, and/or parent education and training. CDS works in partnership with families to provide a client-centred service within a life-course perspective.
CDS also provides health-based services to children with cerebral palsy through the Townsville Hub cerebral palsy health occupational therapist and physiotherapist who exist within the CDS team.
