Child, Youth and Family Health Services


Ingham’s Child, Youth and Family Health Service is a community-based health care and health promotion service.  It supports children, parents/carers and their families to live healthier lives, enabling children to get the best possible start to life.

The service is delivered from Community Health at the Ingham Health Service or in the family’s home. 

An Outreach Service is provided to Cardwell and Kennedy on the second and forth Tuesday of the month.  Our dedicated child health nurses offer the following free services by appointment:

  • Growth and developmental checks
  • Health surveillance and screening
  • Immunisations, including School Immunisation Program
  • Hearing screening
  • Parenting support, education and information 
    • Development and play
    • Safety and Illness
    • Breastfeeding and nutritional support
    • Oral health
    • Sleep and settling support
    • Parenting and behavioural concerns – Triple P Program
  • Education and support groups – New baby sessions

Referral procedure

Access to the service is by self or professional referral (depending on the requirement).  By contacting Child and Youth Family Health services you will be directed as to the appropriate requirements.
