Resource Directory - Podiatry
Podiatry deals with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of medical and surgical conditions of the feet and lower limbs. Conditions treated include those arising from bone and joint disorders, neurological problems, circulatory diseases and soft tissue pathologies.
The Podiatrist can diagnose and treat any complication of these which may affect the lower limb. Foot injuries and infections through sport or other activities are also treated, along with common foot conditions such as ulcers, corns, calluses and ingrown toe nails.
Podiatry plays an important role in maintaining the mobility of many elderly and disabled people. “At risk” patients also benefit from education, footwear advice and regular treatment for pedal complications.
The Podiatry Clinic is located at the Kirwan Campus

Referrals can be made using the blue referral slips. Allied health Reception can be contacted during working hours on +61 7 4433 9500 between 3pm and 4pm on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and an urgent appointment requested. This is important so the patient can access Podiatry services before discharge.
Because of the limited Podiatry hours available, it is suggested that only those with definite foot pathologies, (eg, corns, ulcers, gryphotic nails, etc) should be referred.
