Sexual Health Services Townsville Hospital and Health Service

Overview

The Townsville Sexual Health Service offers a free and confidential service for the community of Townsville and Thuringowa.  This includes assessment and management of sexually transmissible infections, blood borne viruses, sexual function /dysfunction, transgender, sexuality and related issues, reproductive health advice and counseling.

The service provides free condoms and lubricant to the public and supports the needle and syringe program, providing new ‘fit kits’ and access to a 24-hour disposal bin.  Sexual health education and health promotion activities can be arranged for both health professions and the public.

The clinical staff consists of specialist Nursing Staff, a Specialist Medical Officer and psychologist.  Appointments are necessary.

8am-7pm Monday

4-7pm MALE ONLY MONDAY - If you have NO current health worries and just want a quick STI or HIV test drop into our "Quickie clinic".  (Please note:  The door is locked from 4.30pm.  Please press the green button on the left of the door for after hours access to "Men only Monday's quickie clinic").

8am-12pm Tuesday
8.00am-4.30pm Wednesday Thursday and Friday
Saturday and Sunday: Closed

Referrals

Clients can self refer. Referrals from Specialists and General Practitioners should be addressed to Dr Arun Menon.

A Medicare card is not essential but preferred - ask about our privacy and confidentiality policy if required.
