Wound Management Service - Resource directory, Townsville Hospital and Health Service,

Overview

The Townsville Hospital provides a multi-disciplinary approach for the care and treatment of acute and chronic wounds both within the hospital, extending through to the completed episode of wound care in the community setting.

The Wound Management Clinical Nurse Consultant (The Townsville Hospital) can be contacted on +61 7 4433 2260 (Monday to Friday 7am - 3.30pm) for information/education, client consultations, wound product enquiries or to provide clinical support for any staff member of the Townsville Hospital and Health Service seeking assistance with the management of complex wounds.

Clients discharging from the Townsville Hospital to home, who require short term wound care services, can be assessed for suitability for referral to the Post Acute Nursing Care Wound management Clinic (based at Kirwan Community Health Facility) by the Discharge Coordinator attending ward rounds. Or alternatively, staff can phone +61 7 4433 9500 and speak to the Townsville Community Health Service’s Intake Officer.

Clients in the community can also receive wound management services through the Post Acute Nursing Care (PANC) services however strict criterion applies.  For further information regarding eligibility to this service, please phone +61 7 4433 9500 and speak to the Townsville Community Health Service’s Intake Officer (Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm).
