Temporary changes at Bundaberg Hospital's main entrance

Patients and visitors accessing Bundaberg Hospital to experience changed conditions while works near the hospital’s main entrance are under way.

Patients and visitors accessing Bundaberg Hospital will experience changed conditions while works near the hospital’s main entrance are under way.

Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service (WBHHS) Chief Executive Debbie Carroll said works involved upgrading one of the main hospital building’s air-conditioning systems.

“To allow these works to occur, fencing and scaffolding will be in place along the southern side of the building, adjacent to the internal road that leads to the hospital’s main entrance,” Ms Carroll said.

“As a result, vehicle access along the internal road will operate as single lane during the works with signage in place to alert motorists of the changed conditions.

“While mostly used by staff, the footpath directly adjacent to the building will also be temporarily closed, so pedestrians will need to access the hospital via Bourbong Street.”

Ms Carroll said works had started today (24 November), weather permitting.

“The works are expected to take about one month, with every effort made by the team to complete earlier, weather permitting,” she said.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while these works are under way.”
