Hospital entry requirements
As of 17 December 2021, there are restrictions in place for unvaccinated people visiting public healthcare facilities including public hospitals, community clinics and aged care facilities.
These restrictions do not apply to patients. Everyone will receive care or treatment at our hospitals, regardless of their vaccination status.
All visitors are required to show proof of their COVID-19 vaccination status before being permitted to enter.
Do this by downloading your vaccination certificate onto the Check In Qld app, bringing your COVID vaccination card or printing a copy from your MyGov account.
In some instances, exemptions may be provided for unvaccinated visitors who meet specific criteria outlined in the current Hospital Entry Direction, such as proof of medical contraindication or as a COVID-19 vaccine trial participant. This may also be possible for unvaccinated people visiting a facility to see a patient, including:
- end of life,
- as a support person during childbirth,
- as a parent of a child or minor,
- as a carer,
- or in an emergency.
Unvaccinated visitors who meet the criteria will be required to follow additional restrictions.
Thank you for your patience and for being kind to our staff as they help keep everyone safe.
