BreastScreen Queensland

BreastScreen Queensland provides free breast cancer screening for all eligible Queensland women. Women aged from 50 to 74 years are particularly encouraged to visit a BreastScreen Queensland Service every two years, as increasing age is the biggest risk factor in developing breast cancer. Women from the age of 40 and those choosing to continue screening after 75 are also eligible to attend for a breastscreen.

BreastScreen is the only BreastScreen Australia accredited breast cancer screening provider in CQ offering free screening and assessment, to eligible women, using digital mammography technology.

BreastScreen Rockhampton Service

BreastScreen Rockhampton Service on the North Street side of the Rockhampton Hospital Campus is the main headquarters for the service in Central Queensland. This service has been providing Central Queensland women with quality breast cancer screening services for more than 27 years.

A standard screening mammography service is provided, any clients who are called back for further testing will come to the clinic for assessment.

The service is staffed by all females including Doctors, Radiographers, Nurses and Bookings and Administration Staff.

Regular out of hours appointments (before and after work and on Saturdays) are offered at the clinic and the CQ Health Mobile Women’s Health Nurse provides a cervical screening clinic once a month.

The staff at Rockhampton oversee bookings for the entire region.

You can access the Main Entry from the public car park off Park Street. Due to the level of demand, the service is open at different times throughout the month.
