Our respiratory service investigates diseases and other disorders of the lungs, including:

- home oxygen assessment
- chronic respiratory failure
- suspected sleep disordered breathing

- Spirometry (pre and post bronchodilator)
- Complex pulmonary and lung function testing
- DLCO/lung volume
- 6 minute walking test (6 MWT)
- Overnight oximetry (blood oxygen level test)
- Bronchoprovocation (testing to diagnose asthma)
- Flexible bronchoscopy

How to access this service
To access this service, your GP or medical practitioner will need to send a referral letter to the hospital.
If there is a waiting list, you will receive a confirmation letter and be advised on what to do next. If there is no waiting list, you will receive an appointment booking letter or we will contact you to arrange a suitable time for your appointment.
If you are an inpatient in hospital you may be referred to this service by a hospital clinician.
