Women's and Newborn Services offer a wide and diverse range of healthcare services to women and their babies in Queensland. Our dedicated team delivers a high standard of quality care to assist you in achieving the best and most positive outcome for you and your family. We remain a leading force in health promotion whilst continuing to provide specialist care in Maternity, Neonatology, Gynaecology and Cancer Services.
The service line maintains a strong connection with local universities, with many students who have studied with us going on to join our workforce. It is a large provider of training for The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists membership and fellowship in Queensland.
The Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) is a Baby Friendly Health Initiative (BFHI) accredited hospital. The framework for BFHI is the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding.
BFHI standards ensure all mothers and babies receive appropriate support and contemporary information in both the antenatal and postnatal period regarding infant feeding.
