Queensland Health is currently trialling pre-booked breastscreen appointments in Maryborough, Springfield, Winston Glades, Mt Gravatt and Browns Plains. Some women from these areas, who are due for the next two-yearly breastscreen in the coming months or are eligible and have not participated in screening before according to our records, will receive an invitation letter containing a pre-booked appointment time and date. If this pre-booked date and time is not suitable, women will be asked to contact their BreastScreen Queensland service to make a more suitable appointment time.

The trial aims to assist women in accessing the Government’s free BreastScreen Queensland services after the idea received high levels of support from the Queensland community via an online survey and when some women visited our services during June/July this year.

If you receive a pre-booked appointment, we encourage you to have your say by visiting the Queensland Government’s ‘Get Involved’ webpage www.getinvolved.qld.gov.au/breastscreen or send us some feedback by emailing cssb@health.qld.gov.au
