Queensland Health: Reporting Concerns Portal

Overview/Definitions

Official Misconduct is defined as conduct by any person holding a position in a unit of public administration (namely Queensland Health), acting in the course of their official duties that could, if proven, amount to

• criminal offence, or
• a disciplinary breach capable of providing reasonable grounds for termination of employment

Some examples of Official Misconduct

• Fraud or theft
• Unauthorised disclosure of confidential or patient information
• Misuse of authority for personal gain
• Unlawful assault in the workplace of patients or other staff
• Reprisal action against whistleblowers
• Performing official duties while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs
• Deliberate or reckless conduct that results in patient harm
  

then the matter should be reported immediately to your Line Manager, who will take this to the District CEO for necessary action.

Process for lodging a complaint

  

Staff can lodge complaints through their Line Manager or HR Manager, or by contacting the Ethical Standards Unit directly:
