About the campaign

The Department of Health coordinates the annual campaign to recruit interns for positions in Hospital and Health Services across Queensland.

There are 3 recruitment pathways available to obtain a medical internship in Queensland:

The online portal is the only method of applying for an intern position with Queensland Health.

Graduates assign a preference to all participating hospitals from highest to lowest.

From the applications received, graduates are either directly allocated an intern position determined by their preference (group A) or will participate in a merit selection process conducted by participating hospitals with remaining intern vacancies (groups B-D). Read more on the applicant groups for intern positions.

Hospitals are responsible for conducting pre-employment checks, onboarding, contracting issues and orientation. Learn more about the facilities participating in the intern recruitment campaign, and the positions they have available.

For further information about the campaign, how to apply and key dates refer to the Application guide (PDF 540 kB).
