Other pre-employment checks
The Department of Health has a responsibility to ensure the safety and security of our employees and volunteers. Pre-employment checks will be conducted on the successful candidates prior to being appointed. Your hiring manager will advise which checks apply to the role.
Pre-employment checks that may be undertaken (if required for the role) are:
- Working with children
- Qualification
- Registration
- Australian working rights
- Corrective services
- Aged care
- Citizenship and visa
- Radiation licensing safety
- Biosecurity fit and proper person check.
More specific information is provided for two common checks:
- General criminal history
- Vaccination status - find out about mandatory vaccination requirements
Where specific qualifications are a mandatory requirement of the role, candidates will be required to present original or certified copies of supporting documents.
The Department of Health will accept copies certified by a justice of the peace, commissioner of declarations, barrister or solicitor or notary public.
