Malakoola (Napranum) Primary Health Care Centre Profile

icon Malakoola offers a multidisciplinary and holistic primary health and acute care service through strong partnerships between nursing staff, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers.
icon The centre is open Monday to Friday and is closed on weekends and public holidays. After-hours health services are provided at the Weipa Integrated Health Service and through the Queensland Ambulance Service for emergencies.
icon Malakoola aims to be a centre of excellence by delivering a high standard of healthcare services to the community through quality assessment, planning, early intervention and evaluation across acute and chronic health, supporting people and communities in achieving optimal health outcomes.
icon Malakoola hosts a suite of regular visiting medical, community and allied health clinics, including social work, counselling, physiotherapy, diabetes educators, dietetics, chronic conditions, podiatry, paediatricians, physicians and echocardiography, dermatology, hearing health, mental health, maternal and child health.
icon Telehealth services are available for linking with other facilities via video-conference for patients.
icon Malakoola can provide financial assistance through the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme to eligible patients who need to travel to other hospitals for procedures and tests not available locally.
icon A purpose-built dental suite provides comprehensive dental care to the local community.
