If you or someone you're close to has been treated in our health service, we'd like to invite you to become a consumer representative.

We're always working to improve our health service. Consumer representatives are our partners in this process.

Some of the ways you can contribute are:

  • advice and feedback groups
  • forums, discussions and workshops
  • reference groups
  • educating staff
  • committee membership.

Some of these activities are one-off sessions for a few hours, and some are regular monthly meetings. Others may be a few hours at a time over a few months or a year. You can do many of our activities over video chat.

How to be part of it

First, you'll need to join our Consumer Engagement Register. Sign up online or email sc-engagement@health.qld.gov.au.

Once you're on the register, we will invite you to activities that are relevant to you. You don't have to accept every invitation, and you can leave the register any time.

We run orientation courses for new consumer representatives.
