What to expect during your visit to the clinic
Check in at the reception desk upon arrival. You will be asked to confirm your details and inform us of any changes. If you are new to the clinic, time will be allocated to complete registration forms.
When it is your turn, your first name will be called by the clinic nurse or doctor. During your consultation you will be asked a number of questions regarding your situation. Tests and examinations will be performed as required. If you're unfamiliar with these tests/exams, they will be explained to you.
Once your consultation is complete, you will be given a follow up slip to give to the receptionist. The receptionist will make a follow up appointment for you. Follow up appointments can either be performed in person or by phone, depending on the situation.
We operate a number of clinics from our one location including:
- Sexual Health Clinics
- HIV Clinics
- Pap Smear Clinics
- Contraception Clinics
- Women’s Health Service
- Men’s Health Service
Our service is free. You do not need to have a Medicare card, but please bring one if you have one. We can provide you with a range of care options at your appointment. Referrals from GPs are preferred. Some medication scripts may incur a PBS dispensing fee if appropriate for your treatment.
Travellers are welcome to use the services provided at our clinic. Results are available one week after your visit. We prefer you are in the local area to receive your results. If you will not be in the Sunshine Coast area one week after testing, we may refer you elsewhere.
