Annual Report 2015/16
reveals record activity

ELECTIVE Surgery waiting times remain 100% within national targets and outpatient waiting times continue to improve across Wide Bay hospitals, despite record pressure on local health services. The Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service Annual Report 2015/16 reveals 971,371 patient contacts overall during the last financial year, up 4% on 2014/15.

HERVEY Bay Emergency Department staff have shown their dedication to their patients by knitting scarves to help them cope with the winter cold and the chill of helicopter transfers. The scarves project was started by Tonia Hamilton, a clinical nurse in the emergency department, and her 90-year-old mother Rose Hawkes, but has grown to include many staff members and other members of the community..
