Our region
The Wide Bay region offers one of the best lifestyles in Australia. Home to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Island K’gari (formerly Fraser Island) and the Southern Great Barrier Reef, Wide Bay is a beautiful place to live. It offers a relaxed and family friendly environment to live and work. Our larger towns like Bundaberg, Hervey Bay and Maryborough have great local health and education facilities while still offering small town charm.
There are beautiful beaches and natural landscapes to visit, including lakes and rivers that are great for outdoor activities. You can find lots of places to camp, go swimming, sailing or play water sports. There are also great tracks for four wheel driving, biking, hiking and horse riding.
Wide Bay has a great agricultural industry which is important to our local economy. You can always find fresh and delicious food including avocados, macadamias and fresh vegetables.
