Safe Food Production Queensland (SFPQ)
Responsibilities include:

Responsibilities (in relation to food safety) include:

enforcement of the Fair Trading Act 1999 and Fair Trading Regulation 2001

administration and enforcement of legislative provisions regarding false and misleading information or conduct in relation to food.
Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ)
Responsibilities include:

development of the national food standards

development of joint codes of practice with industry

national coordination of food surveillance and food recall systems

conducting research and supporting the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service in the control of imported foods.
Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA)
Responsibilities include:

provision of national leadership on the regulation of the food supply
-
promotion of a nationally consistent approach to food policy and regulation

development of advice and policy for the Australian Government at both a national and international level
-
implementation of the Council of Australian Governments’ (COAG) food regulatory reforms.
Australian Quarantine Inspection Service (AQIS)
Responsibilities include:

routine testing of imported food conducted as part of the Imported Food Inspection Scheme
-
testing of imported food through nationally coordinated survey work, which aims to gather information for use as part of the risk assessment processes undertaken by FSANZ.
