Queensland Health has announced that personal visits to hospitals, residential aged care facilities, disability accommodation services and correctional facilities in the local government areas of Brisbane City Council and Moreton Bay Regional Council will cease. This is effective from noon today and we will review on Monday.
Anyone attending these facilities in these local government areas, including staff, must wear a mask. People will still be able to visit their loved ones who are at end of life.
Brisbane City Council and Moreton Bay Regional Council residents should consider carrying a mask and wear in crowded places. Any vulnerable people should consider not going to crowded venues over the weekend.
Anyone with any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, should get tested immediately and isolate until you receive a negative result.
Symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, fatigue or loss of smell and/or taste.
To find your nearest testing clinic, visit Testing and fever clinics — coronavirus (COVID-19).
