Queensland coronavirus update

11 new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Queensland.

This takes the state total to 46 which includes 3 passengers from the Diamond Princess Cruise Ship.

  1. A 69 year old year-old male is being managed by the Brisbane Metro North Public Health Unit after being with confirmed COVID-19.
  2. A 51-year-old male is being  managed by The West Moreton Public Health unit after being confirmed with COVID-19.
  3. A 48 year old female is being managed by the Wide Bay region Public Health unit after has being confirmed with COVID-19.
  4. A 31 year old female is being managed by the Gold Coast Public Health Unit after being confirmed with COVID-19.
  5. A 19 year old man is being  managed by the Brisbane Metro North Public Health Unit after being confirmed with COVID-19.
  6. A 23 year old man is being  managed by the Brisbane Metro South Public Health Unit after being confirmed with COVID-19.
  7. A 47 year old man is being managed by the Sunshine Coast Public Health Unit after being confirmed with COVID-19.
  8. A 61 year old female is being managed by the Sunshine Coast Public Health Unit after being confirmed with COVID-19.
  9. A 23 year old is being managed by the Brisbane Metro North Public Health Unit after being confirmed with COVID-19.
  10. A 39 year old man is being managed by the Gold Coast Public Health Unit after being confirmed with COVID-19.
  11. A 39 year old female is being managed by the Sunshine Coast Public Health Unit after being confirmed with COVID-19.

Queensland Health can confirm all cases remain isolated in appropriate accommodation to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and all patients are currently stable.

Contact tracing is still underway for these new cases. Public Health Units have been able to confirm the majority have travelled overseas or have had exposure to a confirmed case. Queensland Health will notify the community if any other public health alerts are required.

If you have been overseas in the past 14 days and feel unwell, please see a doctor immediately. Ensure you call ahead to your GP to let them know you’re coming, so they can prepare and provide you with instructions.
