1. Self-Care Looking after yourself

Topic 1 identifies the challenges of working in rural and
remote areas and discusses strategies for managing them.

It also defines rural and remote team practice, and discusses what is required for effective team practice, key team roles and effective conflict resolution.

Topic 2 discusses the critical components of care
management and case conferencing which are essential for effective team practice, continuity of client care and ensuring a person and family centred approach to care.

Topic 3 introduces multidisciplinary teams and discusses the scope of practice of individuals within rural and remote multi-disciplinary primary health care teams.

It also outlines and discusses the process for credentialing Medical Officers and Dental Practitioners and the impacts this has on patient safety in the rural, remote and primary health care setting.

On completion of this topic learners will be able to
