This course defines and discusses the primary health care approach to service provision. Topic 1 defines and compares selective and comprehensive primary health care and reviews the benefits and challenges of each approach.
Topic 2 introduces comprehensive primary health care in the Australian context, discussing policy and strategic documents and reviewing the critical elements essential for effective care provision.
Topic 3 introduces the concepts of person and family centred primary health care. It discusses the core concepts and principles of this approach and the benefits and challenges of delivering this type of care. It also introduces the concept of Family Centred – Indigenous responsive primary health care. |
