The COVID-19 pandemic presented challenges and disruptions to healthcare and other supply chains. In response, a statewide reserve has been established to protect Queensland against such disruptions and secure access to critical supplies.

The Queensland Government Critical Supply Reserve (QGCSR) provides frontline workers with reliable access to the supplies and equipment they need to deliver essential services.

Through the QGCSR the Queensland Government has improved the availability, distribution and access to critical supplies in order to respond to large-scale disasters and crises.

It consists of 7 categories of critical supplies that are vital to delivering frontline services:

  • personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • intensive care equipment
  • intensive care consumables
  • pharmaceuticals
  • sanitisers and cleaning products
  • medical gases
  • critical pathology supplies.

Agency access to the QGCSR

The QGCSR has been established to ensure Queensland Government frontline workers have the critical supplies and equipment they need to keep themselves safe and to care for the community.

It is focussed primarily on supporting Queensland Government departments, agencies, and statutory authorities; organisations providing healthcare services in Queensland; and other organisations performing frontline community services in Queensland.

Should your organisation require access to the QGCSR during an emergency or critical event, please complete the below form and the Queensland Health team will contact you to discuss your request.

Please note, agencies should continue to follow their usual disaster response processes for large scale emergency events or crises.
