*The ratio of YTD compared to YTD for previous 5 years is not calculated when the average YTD number of cases in the previous 5 years is less than 1.
^ Notes for Gonorrhoea and Chlamydia:
From 1 January 2018 notifications represent discrete individuals whereas prior to that date notifications represent infection site-specific positive results and may include more than one notification per individual.
From 29 January 2018 notifications of sexually transmitted infections (STI) and non-sexually transmitted infections (non-STI) are reported separately.
~ Notes for Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD):
RHD became notifiable in Queensland on 1 September 2018. YTD and Annual Totals will not be reported for 2018 or earlier.
# Notes for Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV):
RSV became notifiable in Queensland on 1 July 2021. Therefore 2021 YTD figures begin from 1 July. YTD and annual totals will not be reported for 2020 or earlier.
+ Notes for Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV):
Only confirmed Japanese encephalitis virus infections are reported.
