1. Notes for Gonorrhoea and Chlamydia:
From 1 January 2018 notifications represent discrete individuals whereas prior to that date notifications represent infection site-specific positive results and may include more than one notification per individual.

From 29 January 2018 notifications of sexually transmitted infections (STI) and non-sexually transmitted infections (non-STI) are reported separately.

2. Notes for Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD):
RHD became notifiable in Queensland on 1 September 2018. YTD and Annual Totals will not be reported for 2018 or earlier.

3. Notes for Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV):
RSV became notifiable in Queensland on 1 July 2021. Therefore 2021 YTD figures begin from 1 July. YTD and annual totals will not be reported for 2021 or earlier.

4. Notes for Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV):
Confirmed and probable cases of Japanese encephalitis virus infection are included in the data from 1 December 2021 onward. Prior to this date, only confirmed cases were reported.

5. Notes for Mpox (monkeypox):
Mpox became notifiable in Queensland on 24 June 2022. YTD counts begin on 24 June 2022. YTD and annual counts are not reported for 2021 or earlier.

6. Notes for Malaria:
Confirmed and probable cases of malaria are included in the data from 1 April 2023 onward. Prior to this date, only confirmed cases were reported.

7. Notes for Acute Post Streptococcal Glomerulonephritis (APSGN):
APSGN became notifiable in Queensland on 20 October 2023. YTD and annual totals will be reported prospectively from 2024.
