Mission

To secure the future for palliative care in Queensland through research and education.

Vision

Through leadership and support, become a point of reference for Queensland palliative care in the areas of clinical standards, quality and evidence-based endeavour and enquiry.  

Objectives

  • Work collaboratively with Queensland Health services, non government organisations, peak bodies, education providers and private providers in relation to education, research and palliative care service improvement
  • contribute to development of service delivery models and Queensland Health Service Plans that promote improved access and quality of palliative care
  • develop capacity of the palliative care workforce to provide the highest standards of palliative care through collaborative relationships with education providers and professional groups
  • facilitate evidence based education initiatives and promote improved accessibility to palliative care education within the State
  • undertake research that leads to improvements in palliative care delivery and outcomes
  • act as a Clearing House for dissemination of palliative care research and service evaluation information within the State
  • contribute to development of palliative care policy through consultation and collaboration with government and non government representatives.
