Accreditation

Accredited Data Service Provider (ADSP)

The Data Availability and Transparency Act 2022 (the DAT Act) establishes the DATA Scheme, a best practice framework for sharing Australian Government data. Under this scheme, ADSPs can deliver complex data integration, de-identification, and/or secure data access services involving Australian Government data.

On 21 July 2025, the Queensland Department of Health (the Department) was renewed as an ADSP under section 84 of the DAT Act, subject to conditions. Conditions of the Department’s ADSP accreditation include:

  • The entity must not provide de-identification data services or complex data integration services as part of a project unless those services are provided by the Data Services Branch.
  • The entity must not provide secure access data services as part of a project.

ADSP accreditation confirms the Department’s capability to deliver secure and reliable data services and its alignment with the characteristics expected of accredited data service providers.

For further details, refer to the guidance on Data services provided by accredited data service providers under the DATA Scheme.

Accredited Integrating Authority (AIA)

Queensland Health had been recognised as an AIA from April 2023. Due to the sunset of the AIA arrangements, Queensland Health was prescribed as a transitional entity in November 2023, which enabled it to operate as an ADSP under the DAT Act until July 2025.
