Getting your head into a good space, or simply finding a moment to relax can work wonders, and what better way is there to do this than in Queensland?

A new podcast and online video series has been launched by Queensland Health titled Mind/Land, a 15-part series of soundscapes and meditations, and best of all, they are free.

Ranging in times from 1 minute for fast relaxation, and up to one hour for longer chilling, the series was filmed in some of the most iconic spots in the state, including Buderim Falls, the Noosa Everglades, Alexandria Bay, Nudgee, and Mount Ngungun.

Maleny Rainforest

Over 15 episodes, you can choose to fall asleep at Lake Cootharaba with a 20-minute guided meditation, walk through the Maleny rainforest in amazing 4K quality, or simply enjoy a guided meditation to relax to, no matter where you are.

Watch on YouTube or use your favourite podcast app and get your headspace into the best that Queensland has to offer.

“We’re really proud to be providing free content to Queenslanders, with the intent to improve mental wellbeing,” Queensland Health Executive Director of Strategic Communications Tracey Walker said.

“Queensland Health felt there was a gap in the market for a locally produced, free content that showcases the natural beauty and wonders that we have here in the sunshine state, and we all often forget what a wonderful part of the world we live in.

“If there was one good thing to come out of the pandemic, it was a renewed focus on the welfare of your mind and body in this stressful and demanding world we all live in. Sometimes we all just need to stop, take a breath and make sure that your head is in a good space.”

Meditation is a powerful tool for improving your wellbeing. It can reduce your stress, improve your mood and benefit your emotional and physical health.

Noosa Everglades

“Think of this tranquil series as an icebreaker into the world of mindfulness,” Ms Walker added.

“The Mind/Land podcasts and videos are there for everyone to enjoy, not just here, but all over the world and who knows, we might get people coming to visit these wonderful landscapes for themselves as a result.”
