About us

The First Nations Health Office provides strategic leadership, co-design, and advocacy to ensure Queensland Health delivers a culturally safe, equitable, and responsive health system that reflects the priorities identified by First Nations Queenslanders.

We work in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders across the public health system and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community-Controlled Health Organisations (A&TSICCHOs). Together, we collaborate to lead comprehensive legislative, policy and service delivery reforms. These reforms are designed to drive health equity, eliminate institutional racism, and achieve life expectancy parity by 2031.

Our Chief First Nations Health Officer provides advice and expertise on policies, services and programs to improve health outcomes for First Nations people.
