We support Hospital and Health Services to achieve the best outcomes from supplier partnerships through centralised arrangements that benefit Queensland’s public health system and the community.
We apply a category management approach to coordinate procurement across five medical categories of spend to establish and maintain sustainable best value procurement arrangements across the state.
- Medical consumables – consumable goods required for patient care.
- Medical equipment and maintenance – medical equipment and maintenance for hospital and health services, pathology and forensic equipment, consumables and reagents.
- Medical services – clinical services required for the delivery of patient care.
- Pharmaceuticals – pharmaceuticals, medicines and other products required for patient care.
- Prosthetics – national prostheses list product groups and consumables used solely for prosthetics.
We also procure non-clinical goods and services (indirects) that support Queensland’s health system, including foods and beverages, waste management and resource recovery, logistics and translator services.
