Heater-cooler device detection with Non-tuberculous Mycobacteria - Mycobacterium chimaera
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC) has developed national guidance to address non-tuberculous mycobacterium (NTM) infections associated with heater-cooler devices used in healthcare settings.
This resource provides information on identifying and managing infection risks, implementing infection control measures, and enhancing clinical practices to safeguard patient health. Healthcare professionals can use this guidance to improve their response to NTM infections and ensure compliance with best-practice standards.
