Online chlamydia and gonorrhoea test requests
13 HEALTH Webtest is a free urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhoea that can be ordered online. The test is available to Queenslanders 16 years and older.
Queenslanders can order the test online and receive the result through 13 HEALTH. It is confidential and can be ordered without a Medicare Card.
The test is not intended to replace a comprehensive sexual health check by a health professional. Rather it provides an additional testing option for people at risk of STIs who are unlikely or unable to attend a health service.
The service was introduced in July 2020 after a successful pilot project conducted by Communicable Diseases Branch and Health Contact Centre within Queensland Health, in collaboration with Pathology Queensland and several private pathology providers.
More about the goals and preliminary outcomes of the 13 HEALTH Webtest research project can be found on Queensland Health’s research activity database.
How it works
Queenslanders can order the test online through the 13 HEALTH Webtest portal and choose to provide a urine sample in one of two ways:
- by downloading a pathology request form and visiting a collection centre, or
- by ordering a home sample kit and posting their urine sample back for analysis using the reply-paid envelope.
The 13 HEALTH Webtest team calls people with positive results and supports them to attend a health service for treatment and a more comprehensive sexual health check. Negative results are advised by text message or email.
