Donated tissue that cannot be used clinically may be used for research purposes provided the donor has given consent.
Clinical researchers can access this tissue subject to relevant ethical approval.
Tissues that may be available for research include cornea, sclera, bones, cancellous bone blocks, demineralised bone matrix, tendon, meniscus, skin, and cardiovascular valves, conduits, and patches.
