Digital in Queensland Health’s DNA –eHealth Expo 2018
Big data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and genomic technology will be some of the hot topics discussed at the Queensland Health eHealth Expo on Thursday 7 June.
The third annual eHealth Expo, to be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, will feature leading thought leaders and showcase key innovations already improving patient care in Queensland hospitals.
Queensland Health’s Director General Michael Walsh says the convergence between life sciences and information technology is transforming medicine.
“Areas such as big data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and genomic technology continue to evolve from the stuff of science fiction to a tangible reality, with massive medical and financial benefits,” Mr Walsh said.
“Queensland Health is on a determined digital journey to set the foundations for the way we deliver digital healthcare to consumers and the community.
“To be successful, we need to recognise that ‘digital’ is now part of our DNA – utilising technology and innovation to enable the future of healthcare delivery.”
With 1800 delegates attending in 2017, this year’s expo will once again bring clinicians, healthcare professionals, vendors, start-ups and researchers together for an inspiring, action-packed one day event to explore how digital is and can improve healthcare and patient outcomes.
“The annual showcase event improves every year,” Mr Walsh said. “This year we are moving to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and changing the format, adding breakout sessions to provide more tailored content for the audience.
“This expo is also an opportunity for us to partner with private enterprise to look at the latest digital products and services shaping the future of healthcare. Start-ups and businesses will be able to engage, discuss challenges and present solutions to key leaders from across the state.”
