Accreditations and terms of reference
The World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research on Leptospirosis, as part of Coronial and Public Health Sciences, Pathology Queensland is accredited by NATA to for the following tests:
- Leptospirosis Microscopic Agglutination Test (MAT), Leptospirosis PCR and Leptospirosis culture (ISO 15189 Human Pathology)
- Leptospirosis Microscopic Agglutination Test (MAT) (ISO 17025 Animal Health)
Terms of reference
- To support WHO's work in strengthening laboratory systems for leptospirosis by providing coordinated technical support that enhances diagnostic capacity and contributes to improved public health response.
- To support WHO's efforts to delivery reference laboratory functions that foster equitable access, strengthen leptospirosis diagnostics and support evidence generation for public health action.
- To support WHO's work on strengthening leptospirosis surveillance and public health decision-making by generating, analysing and sharing high-quality genomic and epidemiological data.
- To support WHO's work on strengthening leptospirosis preparedness and response by providing coordinated technical support for surveillance, risk assessment and post-event public health action
