Maternity and Neonatal

These courses that provide information on the provision of care to pregnant women and neonates presenting to clinics in rural and remote and isolated communities. The courses are designed for non-specialist health professionals working outside of the tertiary hospital setting.

Neonatal Stabilisation

This course provides general guidelines for the assessment and stabilisation of babies in the post-resuscitation / pre-transport period. The level of support required will be dependent on the clinical condition of each individual baby.

Neonatal Retinal Imaging

The eLearning module is part one of the Retinal imaging in the neonatal setting course and pre-requisite to hands on training and subsequent hospital credentialing.

Imminent Birth

The Imminent Birth Education program is designed to provide non-midwives in rural and remote facilities with basic knowledge, skills and confidence to assist women who present when birth is imminent. It is aimed at an introductory level to assist when midwifery expertise is unavailable. It is not intended to teach advanced skills.

Neonatal Resuscitation First Response

NeoResus is a specialised training program that standardises newborn resuscitation teaching in Victoria and other areas of Australia. It consists of two skills based, teamwork focused training programs: First Response (half day) and Advanced Resuscitation (full day) workshops.

Target Audience: Clinicians working in rural and remote and isolated practice settings required to resuscitate neonates.
