Satellite Hospitals

The Satellite Hospitals Program (SHP) is a Queensland Government commitment to deliver seven new facilities to support public healthcare delivery in rapidly growing communities across South East Queensland.

The locations for the new Satellite Hospitals are:

All seven sites have been chosen to provide better access to healthcare for local communities, in convenient settings, without having to travel to major hospitals for care.

They will offer a range of services based on the health needs of the community and incorporate outpatient community-based healthcare services with virtual healthcare opportunities.

Each Satellite Hospital has a minor injury and illness clinic which will deliver walk-in, urgent care and support emergency departments at major hospitals by giving people more options to access healthcare for minor injuries and illnesses close to home.

Patients requiring more urgent care for trauma or chronic and emergency health issues will still need to visit the major hospital in their region for health services and treatment.
