As a workforce planner ready to embark on a strategic planning process, your first steps are critical. Undertake the following activities at the beginning of the process to help streamline the remainder of your planning journey:

  • undertake a strategic workforce planning maturity assessment
  • confirm executive sponsorship and set expectations
  • establish governance and accountability measures
  • agree linking mechanisms with service, capital works, and technology planning functions
  • establish a cross-functional strategic workforce planning team
  • reach agreement on planning processes
  • identify stakeholders and determine consultation processes.
