Nuclear Medicine Scientist Embedded Student Program Scholarship

This Scholarship has been established to provide support for students to reside and study in Queensland who are undertaking the Nuclear Medicine Scientist Embedded Student Program with RMIT.

This scholarship is designed to support you on your exciting and rewarding career journey as a Nuclear Medicine Scientist.

Scholarship applications for students commencing in 2026 have closed.

  • If successful in your application, you will receive up to $15,000 in each year of study that we will pay in fortnightly payments.

    This support is taxable income. We encourage you to get financial advice and/or contact Centrelink to discuss any impact this may have on your finances.

  • Who can apply

    You must:

    • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian permanent resident
    • be enrolled full-time in a Bachelor of Medical Radiation (Nuclear Medicine) or equivalent (An Australian accredited course leading to general registration as a Nuclear Medicine Scientist/Technologist with the Medical Radiation Practitioner Board of Australia).
    • Be accepted by a site within Queensland Health who will support you on the Nuclear Medicine Scientist Embedded Student Program.

      You’ll need to have these supporting documents ready:

      • A copy of your resume including your work history.
      • Details for two referees.
      • Your responses to the selection criteria (see application form).
      • Australian citizens: a certified copy of your birth/ citizenship certificate and marriage certificate (if applicable).
      • Australian permanent residents: a certified copy of either your permanent residency visa or letter granting you permanent residence status.
      • A certified copy of your university testamur (if you have completed a previous degree).
      • A certified copy of 3 forms of identification (with at least one form of ID with a photo and a signature).
  • Scholarship applications are included in the application form.

    The Department of Health is collecting your information to support your enrolment in the above-mentioned program. Personal information collected by the Department is handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009. Your personal information will not be disclosed to other third parties without consent unless the disclosure is authorised or required by or under law.

  • Your application will be assessed by a panel. If you’re successful, the panel will provide you with a formal letter of offer and a Scholarship Agreement for you to consider. Before signing this agreement, you are encouraged to seek independent advice.
