What's in scope

The Preferred Supplier Panel (PSP) covers the following language categories.

Inclusive language supports (outside PSP scope)

Some clients may require additional communication supports not covered by the PSP. These include:

  • plain English
  • easy read English
  • pictographic communication
  • braille transcription
  • live captioning.

Agencies may need to procure these services separately. Where needed, Language Service Providers (LSPs) should be able to collaborate with providers of these supports to ensure inclusive communication.

Assistive technology

Clients may use assistive technologies to support communication. LSPs should be open to working innovatively and flexibly with these tools to meet individual needs.

National Relay Service

The National Relay Service (NRS), funded by the Australian Government, helps people who are deaf or hard of hearing communicate via phone or video. The NRS is not engaged through the PSP.
