  • leads the implementation of the National Immunisation Program in Queensland
  • supports initiatives to improve immunisation rates and quality service delivery
  • coordinates distribution of vaccines for the National Immunisation Program and other state vaccine programs.

School Immunisation Program

Queensland Health public health units provide clinical advice about the School Immunisation Program. For more information contact your local public health unit.

Tuberculosis (TB) Services

Tuberculosis (TB) services provide clinical diagnosis, management and public health follow-up of people with, or suspected of having tuberculosis.  For further information contact your nearest Tuberculosis (TB) Control Unit.

Yellow Fever vaccine services

Queensland Health public health units can provide advice on how to register as a yellow fever provider. Yellow fever vaccinations can only be given by approved Yellow Fever Vaccination Centres.  You can find your nearest centre by entering your postcode.

Australian Immunisation Register

The Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) is a whole of life, national immunisation register, which records vaccines given to all people in Australia. The AIR includes vaccines given:

  • under the National Immunisation Program
  • through school programs
  • privately, such as for flu or travel.
