Clinical Research Fellowships Round 7

The Queensland Health Clinical Research Fellowships Round 7 is now closed.

This round will offer four categories of fellowship award:

  • Novice Researcher (Regional, Rural & Remote) – up to $30,000 in research funding over 1 year
  • Emerging Researcher – up to $100,000 in research funding over 1-2 years
  • Early-career Researcher – up to $200,000 in research funding over 2-3 years
  • Mid-career Researcher – up to $250,000 in research funding over 2-3 years.

We strongly encourage applicants from regional, rural or remote Hospital and Health Services.

Additional weightings apply across all categories for applications from researchers who are based out of regional, rural, or remote health facilities.

Mentorship supplement

An optional additional (up to) $10,000 mentorship supplement is available for eligible researchers applying for a fellowship to support the fostering of a successful mentorship relationship between an eligible researcher and a more experienced researcher.

  • Round 7 opened - 7 October 2025
  • Round 7 applications closed - 11:59 pm AEST 1 December 2025
  • Applicants notified - April 2026 (estimated)
