Health Contact Centre (13 HEALTH and related services) collection notices

The Health Contact Centre (HCC) is a virtual healthcare provider that delivers various services which provide confidential health assessments, advice and information to Queenslanders 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Collection Notice below covers services provided by the HCC.

Personal information collected by the department is handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009. Your personal information will only be held on approved/authorised systems and will not be disclosed to any third parties without consent unless the disclosure is required by or under the Law. Data may be used for quality, research, and reporting purposes but your personal information is not connected with any of this data. The Department of Health (Department) is collecting your information in order to deliver a service to you.  The purpose of collecting your information is outlined for each of the following services:

13 HEALTH Virtual Care Service

To provide you with a telephone-based nursing assessment. You can choose to remain anonymous, but the service will need your age and sex at birth to provide a nursing assessment. Anonymous callers cannot be transferred or referred to any other service including ambulance.

13 HEALTH Webtest

To provide a telephone based/online health service to determine your level of risk for chlamydia and gonorrhoea.

Way to Wellness

To provide a brief telephone-based/online health assessment of your risk factors to optimise your health and wellbeing.

Quitline

To provide a telephone-based service to help you to quit smoking or vaping.

Waitlist Management and Appointment Confirmation

To confirm that you still need care/confirm your outpatient appointment.

Immunise Queensland

To confirm your immunisation status.

Child and Family Health

To provide a telephone-based service to your child and family.

Ryan’s Rule

To escalate your concerns for investigation by the relevant Hospital and Health Service. By using this service, you are consenting for us to disclose your personal information to the relevant Hospital and Health Service.

OwnScreenTo provide a telephone based/online health service for cervical screening (via a self-collection kit).
