About PallConsult
PallConsult is a Queensland Health service designed to boost the ability of local healthcare teams to deliver patient-centred palliative and end-of-life care, enabling people in the last year of their life to access the right care at the right time and in the setting of their choice.

Who operates PallConsult
The PallConsult team is made up of medical and nursing specialists from the Metro South Palliative Care Service.
What PallConsult offers
PallConsult provides clinical outreach services across Queensland to boost the capacity of local clinicians to provide quality care for people approaching end of life who wish to remain at home.
Services include:
- 24/7 advice hotline for doctors, nurse practitioners, pharmacists and paramedics to directly access a palliative care medical consultant
- 24/7 advice hotline for nurses, allied health professionals, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practitioners and workers and residential aged care facility staff to directly access specialist palliative care nurses
- education and mentoring sessions for hospital, community and residential aged care facility clinical staff
- resource development to support palliative and end-of-life symptom management.
