Influenza surveillance reporting

A new communicable disease surveillance system is being set up in Queensland health. Until this new system is fully operational we will not be able to produce the weekly notification summary, the notifiable conditions weekly totals report, or the weekly influenza report.

Influenza cases in Queensland peak during winter each year, with the season usually occurring between May and October. Queensland Health produces a weekly surveillance report to provide a profile of influenza from a number of perspectives, including laboratory confirmed notifications and hospitalisations due to influenza.
