Forensic odontologists
Our forensic odontologists and dentists help pathologists identify deceased persons and in death investigations. There are specific requirements for this role.
As a forensic odontologist at Coronial and Public Health Sciences (CPHS) you'll be examining and evaluating dental evidence in coronial cases.
Qualification and registration requirements
To practise as a forensic dental officer at CPHS you'll need to have both:
- a Degree recognised by the Dental Board of Australia for registration as a Dentist in Australia
- registration as a general dentist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
To practise as a forensic odontologist you must meet the above requirements and obtain special registration as a Forensic Odontologist is required with the Dental Board of Australia.

What duties you'll undertake
Working in an CPHS role, you may:
- support forensic pathologists with investigations, including coronial cases and disaster victim identification
