Clinical review and health service investigation into paediatric gender health services, Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service
On 28 January 2025, Queensland Health commissioned a clinical review and health service investigation into paediatric gender health services at the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.
The clinical review examined paediatric gender health services provided to children and adolescents and the report was provided directly by the clinical reviewers to the health service investigators to inform the health service investigation.
The health service investigation examined and reported on the establishment, governance (operational, professional and clinical), service delivery, and complaints management, and the investigators had regard to the clinical review report.
